The Heidschnucken Trail connects the most beautiful heathlands. It runs through the entire Lüneburg Heath from the Harburg Hills in the North through the Nature Reserve Lüneburg Heath as far as the Südheide (Southern Heath).
223 km – 13 day stages
The trail is not only lined by 30 unique heather areas but also by mythical cultural sites and idyllic Heath villages. The 223 km long Heidschnucken Trail is divided into 13 day stages between 7 km and 27 km. Of course you can work out your individual day stages according to your stamina and wanderlust.
Packages for hiking tours with baggage transfer
Bispingen Touristik e.V. offers several packages for hiking enthusiasts. Walk the Heidschnucken Trail without having to bother about your baggage. The Tourist Information will organise the luggage transfer and your accommodation. The trail is signposted throughout with »Schnucki«, the Lüneburg Heath sheep, and with the logo 'Heidschnuckenweg’ or a white »H« on a black background. A trail passport can be obtained at a small nominal Charge.
The Heidschnucken Trail is the latest ‘Quality Trail of the German Hikers‘ Association’. During the grand opening on 7th July 2012, the Heidschnucken Trail was awarded the certificate »Qualitätsweg des Deutschen Wanderverbandes« by the German Hikers‘ Association. Thus the Heidschnucken Trail is Germany’s most northern approved hiking trail.
